5 March - 6 March 2026

On 5 and 6 March 2026, the Oxford Institute of Technology and Justice co-convened a two-day event funded by the UK's Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office on 'Harnessing Technologies for Atrocity Prevention and Accountability'. Sara Wahedi, our Technology Specialist, spoke on a panel on 'mixed methodologies', which explored how evidence gathered by a range of actors can feed into justice and accountability efforts. Harriet Moynihan, our Head of Accountability in International Law, chaired a panel on the latest investigative and technological innovations for collecting, storing and analysing open and closed source information, and our Co-Founder and Director Philippa Webb chaired a panel on the opportunities and challenges of AI in relation to the investigation of atrocities.
